Anguis' Character Temple

Brief History:
A one night stand between a bartender and a seemingly nice bar patron ended up changing Marlena Williams' life forever. Dane was born and raised with a fairly normal childhood, though one thing always stood out to his mother Marlena. He always asked about his father, but never got answers because Marlena had none to give him. Dane had, even as a small child, an uncanny ability of being able to get whatever he wanted, especially from women by just one simple look. As he got older Dane's ability to attract people began to manifest more and more and he began to control it so he could use it to his advantage. After an incident involving a girl at the high school he attended, Dane was removed from and with nowhere else to go for school he was approached by a strange man who said he knew about who he was and his father, offering him answers if he went to Halfblood Hill. With no other real choice Marlena was faced with the decision her son made to go to the camp, though she doesn't know exactly what it is believing it to be a private school that he is attending.

When Dane first got to the camp 3 years ago he found out about who he was, and that he indeed was a demigod and his father is the god Dionysus. During his initiation battle he was offered one invitation and one only and that was an invitation to join Dolosus, the group of the deceitful. He happily accepted and after being with the group and proving his worth he challenged the previous group leader, a beautiful young woman. He convinced her to step down and like most girls she listened, relinquishing the title to him with no attack even launched. He has been the group leader for only a short amount of time and runs his group a tad bit different than he predecessors did and is a tad more welcoming than they ever were. When it comes to recruiting new members he looks for those much like himself and has no problem flirting or lying to get others on his side.

Family:
Marlena Williams - A bartender in San Diego, and single mother in her late 30's though she acts like she is still 25. Getting pregnant when she was still young changed the college student's life forever. When she was only 21 years old she met a man while she worked her shift at the bar she worked at, and after a few drinks and some talking one thing lead to another and she ended up spending the night with him. She never spoke to him again and after 9 months, Marlena gave birth to a son and was forced to raise the boy on her own. Marlena was attending San Diego State University at the time before she got pregnant but was forced to quit and get a full time job to help take care of her child, and has since worked in the same bar she had started out in and now is the manager. She still loves the night life and partying although at this point she could be considered a little old to still be doing such things. Her approach to parenting is a little unorthodox and acts more like a friend to Dane than a mother.


Physical Appearance: Dane has a chiseled, square face; his looks at some point seem almost unnatural. His short brunette hair is usually messy and looks like it hasn't ever been brushed. Dane stands at 5'7" and weighs in at around 150lbs or so. He has some muscle tone in his shoulders and arms and has a thinner build than most guys around his age. He is an odd mix of thin yet somewhat muscular. Dane has a natural olive skin tone and he always seems to have a slight farmer's tan. What Dane is known most for his huge smile which can be seen from a mile away.

Personality: Dane's most noticeable personality trait is his flirty demeanor. He is extroverted, and could be considered a 'social butterfly' in any social situation. He is also the type to manipulate any situation to his advantage and is extremely manipulative when it is beneficial to him. He uses the fact that he is good looking to his advantage constantly. Dane always has a nickname for anyone, usually stemming from one thing he notices about the person the first time he meets them. He is quite cocky and very sure of himself and his relationships with others. Dane is also commitment phobic, he has never been in any committed relationship with any girl. Or at least on that could be considered committed to him. Dane has been known to date girls and dump them after he has gotten something from them as some weird form of entertainment, leaving a trail of broken hearts behind him.

Powers:

• Dane has the power to manipulate with his words. They are his greatest weapon, and he is able to sway anyone with them. Dane is able to talk anyone into almost anything when he chooses to do so. Sometimes even a simple glance can get him what he wants, almost like some sort of hypnotism.
  
• Quick and nimble it is almost like he is invisible at times. He is abnormally fast and extremely quiet, being able to sneak up on someone with ease.

Talents: His friendly demeanor is one of Dane's greatest assets. He can easily charm a crowd and usually knows just what to say in order to suit his needs the most. Whether it be complimenting or flirting, Dane can usually disarm a situation using words instead of force and has done so in order to get out of plenty of tough situations. He is also pretty humorous and will try to use humor to diffuse a tense situation if the previous two hadn't work out like he had planned. He can also be manipulative, and can get most people (namely girls) to do whatever he wants by simply showing them attention. Dane is extremely light on his feet, fast and he can sneak around without being detected, usually. He is also talented with a paint brush, although it doesn't seem like he should be. He can also climb trees without too much effort on his part, which made becoming the group leader of Dolusus and living in the camp much easier.

Flaws: Dane's biggest and most noticeable flaw is his extreme arrogance and his grandiose opinion of himself. This tends to turn most people off and has been the cause of him getting slapped around a few times in the past. His manipulative nature also makes those who have been taken advantage of think not to highly of him. He is also one to never admit his shortcomings, almost believing that he has none. And although he is charming and a people magnet, this can also get him into trouble. He is strong, but his physical strength and hand to hand combat are not his strong suits, preferring to hide and sneak around rather than fight unless he absolutely has to.

Brief History: Extremely wise beyond her years, Molly has been able to accomplish more in her short 25 years than some do in their entire lives. Molly first attended Half Blood Hill when she was 15 years old and left when she turned 18 in order to attend Stanford, a well known university in California. After graduating very early from high school, she took courses in independent study and was able to get her degree, double majoring in psychology and religious studies. She eventually went on and attained a PhD in psychology. Molly went back to Half Blood Hill and became a counselor in order to help out her fellow demigods and utilize her knowledge. While attending camp, Molly was apart of the group Argutus, her increased intellect got her an invitation to that group and while she never became the leader she was a well known member and active participant in the activities around the camp. She enjoyed the time she spent there and learned a lot not only about different gods and goddesses but about herself. She is able to tell if a person is a demigod and is able to sense who their god parents are, making it very useful when it comes to her job.

Physical Appearance: Molly is fairly tall and thin, standing at 5'8" and weighing in at 130lbs. She has long, curly brown hair that is parted neatly down the middle. Though it is normally left natural and curly, she does straighten it from time to time. Molly's face is rectangular and she has soft cheekbones and full lips and a wide smile. Her eyes are a rich, almost copper-brown color and almond shaped and she has two defined eyebrows that are the same color as her deep brown hair. Her skin is not pale, but more of an ivory color and she tends to get color in her cheeks and over her nose whenever she gets cold. Molly wears a pair of contacts instead of a pair of small glasses that she has on hand just in case something happens.

Personality: Molly is most known for high intelligence and her academic accomplishments. She is very bright and knowledgeable about a wide variety of subjects, but knowing a lot on religious studies and history. She reads a lot of books and journals in her free time and likes to keep herself up to date in all her studies, even though she is no longer in school. Molly has an extremely good memory, and is able to remember almost anything after looking at it just once. She is also very organized and is one that needs to always be kept busy, she hardly ever sits down for long. Molly also has a fascination with owls, and her office is littered with everything from mugs to statues of owls.
